Water in the city

Approaches for climate-adapted neighbourhoods. The seminar will be held in German.

"Cities are already suffering the effects of climate change: Heat, drought and torrential rain are affecting cities and their populations. Damage caused by too much or too little water will be an even greater burden in the future. [...] The seminar will present design options for both new and existing neighbourhoods and thus work out the variety of solutions for climate-adapted infrastructures in different neighbourhoods and urban development types. With the help of a building block system, the selection of options for the management of rainwater and the use of grey and process water at the different levels of the city will be facilitated. In addition, participatory planning processes are presented which are suitable for different actors to implement the added value of climate-adapted infrastructures in an optimal way for the development of a residential block, a neighbourhood or an entire city".
